Dayananda Sagar Engineering College

The Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering has been approved by the Indian, Federal and State Governments as well as the National educational body -the All India Council for Technical Education, and is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University. The institution is situated in the heart of "Garden City of Silicon Valley of India" at Bangalore (12 57oN, 77 38oE, 920m altitude), one of the most important cities of India which has been the nerve centre for Information Technology, Aerospace Technology, many electronic industries of international repute and many defense establishments. The city of Bangalore, blessed with a salubrious weather is well connected with all principal cities of India by road, rail and air.

The Courses

The Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering was established during 1979-80 with the basic courses of Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering has expanded into many branches of Engineering catering to demands of professional education and today offers undergraduate programmers leading to Bachelors degree of the Visvesvaraya Technological University / Bangalore University, in the following streams

Infrastructure:
In keeping with continued efforts for up-gradation and advancement of knowledge care has been taken to invest extensively in every department of engineering with regular periodic up-gradation and proper maintenance. The best of faculty with innovative teaching methods have evolved teaching modern theory and practical learning which has become a guiding hand for the fresh entrants to shape themselves to proud professionals, as they pass out the portals of DSCE. The institute boasts of some of the best scientists, practicing professionals with national and international laurels among its faculty, who shape the student community over and above scientific and engineering temperament. The students are honed for their attitudinal skills and managerial potentials with in house H.R.D. activities. Faculty:

Apart from regular faculty of the institutions, visiting faculty from industry and other universities, both from India and abroad -are regularly invited to address the students in specific areas of subjects.

International students hostel:
Recognizing the exclusive need of International student community studying in Dayananda Sagar Institutions, the management has established an International Students Hostel to cater to large number of them who hail from Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Rawanda, UAE, etc. with special mess and Infrastructure facilities.

Research and development activities complement the various engineering courses and Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering has a full-fledged CAD/CAM facility and Biochemical Engineering Laboratory with activities funded by AICTE, KSCST, National Aviation fuel Board.

The Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering having established a landmark in field of professional educational needs of country and having established its credibility and high academic standing, many international organizations and foreign governments have sent students for undergraduate programmes for various branches of study. The notable foreign students, being from Iran, Iraq, Nepal, Malayasia, Srilanka, Tanzania, Rwanda, Britain, Indonesia, Australia, Kuwait.
An international hostel with modern conveniences and comforts of living has been established in the institution premises and under an agreement a batch of 85 students from Rwanda are being trained in MGVP.
